I publicly ridicule the idea of new year’s resolutions.

The thing is, I know the nature of the beast. Resolutions, lightly made, are often broken, year after year, so you do not want to appear weak by announcing your intention and then fall down on the execution.

However, having said that, I do make resolutions around the turn of the year, sometimes quietly revealed to those close to me, sometimes kept secret, deep inside the resolution file in the back of my mind. These are my revolving resolutions, no time limit, but placed there, on the bucket list. This list I review often, and to my surprise I do manage to tick off items with a smile and a satisfied nod.

2019 hit with a bang, and the resolution mill whirred into action. Having started the travel blog, I silently vowed to “get out there more often”, especially here in the north, in our new province of residence, Limpopo.

Despite the new year taking off in high gear, we managed to get a start on this resolution. We booked into SANParks most northern offering, Mapungubwe National Park, for a two-night camping break-away, at R303.00 for two adults per night.
